Thirty days hath September. What did I do? I can barely remember. Good thing I have a camera to do that for me. It looks like I kicked things off with superior dumplings from Soho’s Jen Café, followed by ice cream sandwiches at Chin Chin Dessert Lab, and some “ryesearch” at the always wonderful Milroy’s ahead of Rye Not? later in the month. The second Saturday of the month was reserved months in advance for Beavertown Extravaganza, an enormous, international gathering of breweries, beers, and geeks at the vast Printworks space in Surrey Quays. The beer line up was seriously impressive, as was the Kerb roster of street food traders outside.
Notable dinners included a Sri Lankan feast at the new Hoppers in Bond Street, and a marvellous Mexican meal at the refurbished and relocated Santo Remedio in London Bridge. The canapés from Street Kitchen’s Mark Jankel almost stole the show at Glenmorangie’s #BeyondTheCask event, a great evening in Shoreditch where they launched an exciting collaboration with Renovo Hardwood Bicycles and dished out some cocktails and drams for good measure. I finished the month with a flying visit to Vienna with Alex from East London Liquor Company. We worked our way round numerous coffee houses, bars and wineries – read the full story here.
