Following on from my 2016 London highlights photo montage, I’ve put together a little album of my favourite snaps from all of the Matt The Trips adventures and this year (many of which are still to be written up). My first escape was Brussels in April which centred around a bucket list trip to the Cantillon Brewery. Then there was a flying visit to Brighton for a close friend’s stag-do, shortly followed by the wedding itself in The Cotswolds.
The next trip abroad was a long weekend in Paris in June when the banks of the Seine were nearly flooded by an unusual amount of rainfall. A month later, I headed stateside for a 25 day road trip starting in Baltimore and ending in Montreal that took in Washington DC, Philadelphia, New York, Rhode Island, Cape Cod, Boston, Portland, Acadia National Park, New Hampshire, Vermont, Algonquin National Park and more. I’m not going to lie – it was pretty damn wonderful.
August always contains a trip to Edinburgh during the festival with family. We divide our time between fringe comedy shows, great meals, and day trips out of the city. Timberyard and St.Monan’s were the highlights this year. Then I soldiered on with work until December when I squeezed in festive jaunts to Copenhagen and The Lake District either side of Christmas. The Danish capital was an absolute joy, and I’ll be back there again before too long – stay tuned for a full write up soon.
N.B. The gallery may take some time to load – patience is a virtue!
