Despite the mostly grim weather of late, there have been a few mornings with beautiful, hazy sunshine that I had to take advantage of. Scroll down for some Balcony Booze shots of some superb beers from Stigbergets, Chorlton, Anspach & Hobday and Cantillon, plus a bottle of Aberfeldy 16 whisky that I’ll be showing off at The Drinks Cabinet live podcast in London.
In foodie news, Donostia Social Club are back at The King & Co. until January 1st 2017 with their Basque-inspired tapas and an unmissable dulce de leche cheesecake. Meanwhile, over in E8, the popular Berlin-inspired Brünch popup have successfully raised £10,000 through Kickstarter and settled down permanently in the transformed London Fields Brewery Taproom. I dropped in to the launch party for some boilermakers and beats before swinging by Peg + Patriot for a nightcap. P+P have just launched an interesting new cocktail menu inspired by some of the world’s greatest chefs that I’ll hopefully report on soon.
Last but not least, with my London Cheap Eats contributor hat on, we had our first ever LCE £8 popup at Clutch Chicken, with 120+ people trekking out to Hoxton for an affordable feed and cocktails in atmospheric surroundings. Hopefully it will be the first of many around the city, and we’ve got some exciting plans for 2017, including our 1st birthday celebrations some time in January!
