One of the most enjoyable evenings of the 2019 London beer calendar was a relatively quiet night in N16. Matt Orlando, master chef and owner of Amass in Copenhagen, came over to the UK to spread the good word about his new project, Broaden & Build – an “ingredient-focused brewery, restaurant and bar” in the increasingly exciting Refshaleøen area outside CPH. Matt smartly chose the Red Hand to softly showcase some beers ahead of LCBF, and a crowd of discerning drinkers descended upon Dalston to sip their sours, saisons, stouts and IPAs.
I had great fun capturing the beer industry-filled gathering, catching up with fellow photographers and aficionados, and chatting away to Matt. For the full low-down on Broaden & Build – how it came to be, their future plans, and the like – I highly suggest you head over to Pellicle and read Cory Smith’s in-depth article here. But first, scroll down for my favourite snaps from the event. Here’s to more chilled evenings in the pub with like-minded people in 2020!
