Round the corner from Cantillon and Gare du Midi in Anderlecht, L’Ermitage Nanobrasserie is an exciting new Brussels brewery run by three friendly faces, François, Nacim and Henri. I took the photos below on their inaugural brew day as they tested out their shiny Croatian brewkit – they have previously brewed elsewhere (including at London’s own Anspach & Hobday). As they had their hands full making sure everything was going to plan, I settled down with a glass of their outstanding flagship Lanterne IPA, a fresh and fruity session beer that features cascade and mosaic hops. If the Lanterne is anything to go by, these guys are going to produce some fantastic stuff. Keep an eye out for their beers around Brussels (e.g. at Malt Attacks, Le Barboteur, Moeder Lambic, Nuetnigenough), and get down to their stylish tasting room once it is open for business.
