Finally, after years of scaffolding, some decent food and drink is starting to appear around the total mess that is Victoria Station. The Nova complex is responsible for almost all of it (including Sourced Market, Timmy Green, Franco Manca, and Bone Daddies), but even more exciting is the arrival of a second Bleecker Burger just over the road.
The award-winning Bleecker Burger team, headed up by American Zan Kaufman, have been dishing out burgers, angry fries, sodas and shakes from their infamous black burger truck since 2012. A permanent shack was added to Spitalfields Market in 2015, and now they’ve got a spacious spot on Victoria Street that crucially stays open til as late as 11pm (or 10pm on Sundays). What’s new? They’ve got three beer taps front and centre – two from Brooklyn Brewery (including a Brooklyn Defender IPA exclusive) and a third from the always reliable Kernel Brewery. Plus, there’s a new Oreo milkshake on the menu. What’s not new? The bloody brilliant burgers. 40-day dry-aged rare breed beef from Bermondsey’s The Butchery, American cheese, secret sauce, sesame seed buns – it’s all good. What should you order? The Bleecker Black. Double beef, double American cheese, black pudding, onion and sauce. Just do it.
